Early rising views in Scotland....

This morning I woke at 6am so we could drive back to the airport and head home. I wandered across the campsite to the loos - and on exiting the toilets was faced with this incredible sunrise across the highlands. So totally stunning in fact that I took about 10 photos of the exact same thing. I bumped into a security guard who was also having a gander. "Bonnie eh?" he said. So I smiled.

Woof woof

Poor little doggy stuck in a backpack and unable to dance.. Woof! I went and spoke to his owners and apparently he is a massive fan of The Magic Numbers (I just made that up).

Oh dear..

Who'd have thought I have a degree in illustration? I've obviously lost all skill since graduating and am now reduced to such low artistic outputs as painted shells. Well, I figured it's my duty to sample all aspects of festival life right? Not just music and food and people and drink and camping.. But art classes for children too. Shell now going for £1000 on eBay. Or for free via Trident Facebook. ;)

Hello!

Happy Saturday from me! It freezing cold here - and I am wearing all my clothes all at once - but it's so beautiful and fresh and fun that I am having a great time! Here I am on the beach with a nice coffee to keep me warm. Hello everyone! Katie x

Guess which one is my tent..

It's my final week of UK camping so I decided to bust-out my old tent I used to take to festivals as a rocking teenager. It's grimy and barely waterproof these days, but seemed a fitting home before I wave goodbye to the UK and head abroad for the rest of the year.. :)

Petes going fishing..

This place is amazing. Set right on the edge of the water.. You can hang out on the pebble beach and skim stones. Bit too cold to swim though!

Evening falls on loopallu

.. And myself, Pete and the winners Gloria and Jim are having a drink in the bar tent. Spotted this creature on the wall. Hmmm.
Anyways... Gloria bought me some light-up bunny ears to wear around the site. Makes for a rather wonderful torch!

The day's first performers

Can you guess where we are yet?

And so it begins!

Here is a badly composed photo of myself and my buddy Pete. We have survived the flight and drive to Ullapool and have put up tents and put on layers. Chilly here but totally stunning and the music starts soon.. Hooray! Katie x

Incredible campsite view!

Wow!

Hello from chilly Scotland!

En route to loopallu!

Middle of nowhere in a very beautiful way!

Bestival video report!

Howdy doody - so here is my video report on some of the fun sights and sounds of Bestival!

toboggan riding at Bestival 2010!

Just for fun...

Trident Perpetual Question at Bestival

A running perpetual question between festival goers at Bestival!

Dan Le Sac Vs Scroobius Pip at Bestival

I last saw these chaps at Beach Break in Wales - so was nice to catch up with them backstage at Bestival. Funny chaps!

the Flaming lips at Bestival 2010

I was lucky enough to get some interview time with The Flaming Lips' Wayne Coyne at Bestival. I asked him to tell me a crazy anecdote from his summer on the road. Cue naked men, sweat, wrestling and general rock and roll madness!

Mr Motivator at Bestival 2010

I couldn't believe my eyes when I first saw that Mr Motivator was going to be at Bestival 2010! The man is a legend - not only of lycra and exercise videos - but also of positivity and happiness. Check out this video of me interviewing the man himself.. and doing a dance routine with him! WOW!

Bestival - all the photos!

Check out all the fun photos from my weekend at Bestival over.. HERE!

Good, good times.

Goodbye bestival!

Thank you all for a lovely festival weekend. That's 15 done and 15 to go! Halfway through my epic international adventure... It's been a blast so far and I can't wait to keep on rolling! This next weekend I'm off to Scotland for Loopallu festival in Ullapool - follow my journey on here!

Sunday 12 September 2010

Oh dear

The festival site is massive. Thought I'd use iPhone maps to locate where I am. According to this image - I'm in the middle of nowhere :-) Good times.

True!

Enjoying the last few hours of sunshine on the Isle Of Wight. I <3 Bestival. Deffo coming back next year - with a really wicked costume and a bucket load of pals all dressed the same. Shout out to all the: green army men, he-men, smurfs, fantastic mr foxes, fairies and monsters. You looked lovely. More pics to come!

Helter skelter

I've spotted a helter-skelter... And a toboggan run too! I'm going to try and relive the fun of my water-ride in Croatia.. in the Isle Of Wight. But not in a swimsuit. And less warm. Not in a hotel. Either way I'm taking my camera with me! Be prepared for a low-speed journey from top to bottom!

Meet meatball

This little lady (canine) is Meatball. She's Itch from The King Blues' dog and travelled with them today to Bestival to keep them company before/after their performance. Thanks to Itch for snapping this shot of me and Meatball. We are both enjoying the sunshine :)

The suns out!

Hoorary! Not that I haven't already been having a lovely time.. But sunshine at a festival does make life a whole heap happier and easier. The mud is drying, the punters are smiling and everything looks brighter in the glorious sunshine. Hoorary! :)

Morning campers!

Day three here at Bestival and the team of Christmas elves are already out and about causing trouble near the campsite. They asked me to snap them for their own cameras, so I papped a cheeky one for myself too. What a helpful looking bunch of chaps.
